70 mile Ottawa National Forest Eastern OHV Connector Route

MI-TRALE is very proud to announce that, due to its continuing efforts in partnering with the Ottawa National Forest (ONF) and local government agencies, the 70 mile Eastern OHV Connector Route, that travels through the Iron River, Kenton and Ontonagon Ranger Districts of the ONF, was given final approval for implementation later this year, on Monday, March 18th of 2013. This trail will now connect Iron River and Watersmeet to the Mass City area.

The addition of the 70 mile Eastern Connector Trail brings the total number of trail miles that MI-TRALE manages up to 520 in the 5-county area of the Western UP!

MI-TRALE wants to thank EVERYONE who worked to make this project become a reality. We especially want to thank the Ottawa National Forest and all the contributing agencies of local government. Without their diligence and full support, this connector could not have come into being. It just goes to show that committed people, working together, can accomplish new recreational opportunities for all to enjoy in our area.

Stay tuned–additional information will be released in the coming weeks!
